The awards are run by a non-profit, volunteer organizing committee and overseen by the advisory board. Anonymous jury members are chosen to reflect the diverse composition of our city and operate at arm’s length from the organizing committee. The Winnipeg Theatre Award’s season will run annually from September 1st to August 31st.
Evelyne “Evie” Anderson was an inspiration to generations of performers in Winnipeg with a performing career spanning over 50 years. Having appeared in 52 productions for The Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre, 25 productions for Rainbow Stage, as well as performing at Prairie Theatre Exchange, Manitoba Theatre for Young People, Dry Cold Productions and Stage West in Winnipeg. A diverse performer, she took on leading roles in musicals, classical works, and contemporary American and Canadian plays. Evelyne was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award at the inaugural Winnipeg Theatre Awards in 2017.
