Heartwood at The WECC
Heartwood at the WECC is an opportunity to bring our community together, enjoy entertainment from local musicians and raise funds for short-term counselling, workshops, and group sessions. This event will have a silent auction, 50/50, merchandise sales, and bar.
This year Heartwood is celebrating 40 years of making a difference.
The event will feature FONTINE, an indie-folk/pop artist, from Winnipeg, MB, that is making waves. A queer and Indigenous musician of Nehiyaw heritage, her debut EP, co-produced with friends Kris Ulrich and mixed by Boy Golden, dropped in February this year. Inspired by the prairies and the Winnipeg music scene, her music is a fusion of culture and creativity. FONTINE's single "Homemaker" reached number one on the Indigenous Music Countdown, and she recently graced CBC's "The Intro" stage. With roots in her heritage and her home, FONTINE's music is a captivating journey.
Cassidy Mann will be opening and Issa Kixen will be our entertaining MC for the evening.
