Anastasia Fyk is a multidisciplinary cultural curator of Ukrainian ancestry active in grass-roots and community-oriented initiatives, based in the Parkland on Treaty 2 Territory. Her Ukrainian heritage has been the catalyst that created a drive to know her ancestors' ancient ways of expression. She is a specialist in traditional Ukrainian dance and has given numerous workshops, classes, and talks on the subject. Her work focuses on the de-performace of traditional dance by reincorporating it to cultural spaces in the form of its precolonial expression as social and ritual dance. She focuses on community building and cross-cultural connections with a focus on the transmission of ancient traditions.
