Sound of Unity 2.0 featuring Ninjaparty / Humous / 33RPM / Danny E. Band

Sound of Unity  is a call for arms that hopes to unite the Filipino rock scene after years of division. Guided by a belief that music should bring us together and form community this is the first of many shows showcasing Filipino talent at the WECC Stage.

The WECC has partnered  with the Waterfront Collective Creators to bring four fantastic Filipino bands to our stage. A small portion of the incredible music being made in the Filipino community in Manitoba, today. Lets hear it for unity!


NINJA PARTY

Ninja Party is a 5-piece Filipino-Canadian rock,alternative metal band from Winnipeg, Manitoba. The band started to collab in the late 2018 and met on one common goals which started just for fun and hobby inspite of their other commitments. They mostly listen to Bullet For My Valentine, August Burns Red, Chelsea Alley, Slapshock, Valley Of Chrome, Hatebreed, Metallica, Nirvana and of course Original Pilipino Music scences.
 
Started from different groups with different musical influences and composed of Vhio De Villa - vocals (Pendelum),  Jigz Marquez - bassist (Ancient Mobs) Jonathan Balita - Guitars (Gates of Aglipay), Sherwin Ylagan - Guitars (Ancient Mobs) and Kit Peleo - Drums(Scissor's Salad) blended together and formed as Ninja Party. Ninja Party have 2 unreleased original singles called "Byente Nueve"  inspired on a story of a bladesmithing and "As If We Will" all about our Covid-19 effects, expieriences and motivations. 

They had the pleasure of opening for iconic band Slapshock show on Winnipeg and other gigs. Currently, the band is working on and off for thier songs when time permits.

33RPM

The newly formed 33Rpm band is excited to play original and cover music with its own touch that draws on the  timless qualities of Classic Rocks and Alternative Grunge music. They are Jacob (guitar/lead vocals), Dwardz (Drums/backup vocals), Ramil (Bass guitar/Vocals), and Aaron on Lead Guitars.

HUMOUS

Humous, formed in 2013 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The trio have released 5 independent albums to date, and are currently recording their 6th EP titled “Whorlworld” to be released by the end of 2023. Their music can be defined as lo-fi alternative rock and their songs reflects the life and struggles of the Filipino migrants around the globe.

DANNY E BAND

Danny E Band or Danny Estioco Band is a local band in Winnipeg. It was initially formed as a band to participate in a Filipino community music fest that was held at PCCM & other music venues. It is a five piece band with Danny on Lead vocals & guitar, Yeho Estioco on guitars & vocals, Jeko Rosales on drums & vocals, CJ Mendoza on Bass & Andrew Viray on lead guitar & keys. The music that they play are mostly original. Their aim is to promote good vibe, joy & hope through music. They love to play songs that would uplift, encourage and inspire people. In a world full of hatred and negativity, their mission is to impart a message of love, hope & resilience to their audience through the boundless & powerful influence of music.
