With influences from her African heritage, la chanson française, and American gospel, Kelly Bado’s music is an intoxicating blend of Soul, World, and Pop. This World Music Artist of the Year (Western Canadian Music Awards - 2018) crosses cultural barriers to bring people together in joy and hope. Her striking vocals and uplifting melodies make for a performance that stays with the audience long after the show is over.
Whether receiving public accolades from Sir Paul McCartney as a semi-finalist on La voix, or rocking showcases at International Folk Alliance in New Orleans, Kelly takes nothing for granted. She is a hard-working artist, dedicated to her craft, and committed to bringing a positive message through her music to as large and as diverse audience as possible. Creative, energetic and charismatic, Chef Rob Thomas brings a deep-rooted passion for food to every aspect of his culinary creations. Inspired by his Caribbean roots, classical training and world travels, Thomas brings an eclectic fusion of experiences and experimentation to his dishes over his 25 + years in the industry. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Canada, Chef Rob is known expert in global-inspired cuisine, mixing modern and traditional dishes.
Chef Thomas shares his passion for food as a resident chef the Marc and Mandy show which airs on 8 networks across Canada and over 200 tv stations in the USA.
Previously the resident chef on Breakfast Television Winnipeg , Chef Rob has been a guest chef on CTV, Global , and City TV morning shows across Canada, He has also competed in Food Network Canada’s Chopped Canada, and won the Miele culinary challenge national competition. On the radio, Chef Rob created and previously hosted “The Main Ingredient” on 680 CJOB, sharing his culinary insights, recipes and guest interviews with listeners across the country. On print, he has contributed food features in many publications, and now currently a contributor with Canadian Home Trends magazine.
Chef Rob’s talent has ranged from his work as Executive Chef at the 1999 Pan Am Games, to co-leading the culinary team at Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet, to guest chef at a 5 star resort in the Mayan Rivera and private chef services in the Caribbean.
In 2017, Chef Rob was awarded a silver medal at Gold medal Plates ; an invite only competition for the citys top chefs. Currently Chef Rob’s private and personal chef services are based in Winnipeg, and will travel at the request of clients
Chef Rob has had the pleasure of cooking for previous Winnipeg jazz festival artists : The Roots, John Legend, Janelle Moane, Wynton Marsalis, Charles Bradley, Robert Plant, Trombone Shorty, and Buddy Guy.
