Old Man Hat
Old Man Hat is a singer, songwriter and activist based out of Winnipeg, Manitoba. With an emphasis on working-class solidarity, Old Man Hat blends social commentary and fingerstyle guitar playing to create contemporary protest songs.
Mulligrub
Mulligrub is a 3-piece rock band from Winnipeg. The band’s confessional lyrics blend the sensibilities of 90s alternative emo with melodies influenced by hooky power pop ballads. Three-part harmonies are combined with a DIY garage feel and heart-on-your-sleeve lyrics to create an intimate and dynamic sound. The current band lineup is Kelly Campbell on guitar and vocals, Natalie Smith on bass, and Riley Hill on drums.
OP-ED
Headlining the night, OP-ED is a protest rock band founded by Canadian-Palestinian refugee Tarek Abdel Aziz to bring stories of resilience and defiance to the forefront of the music scene. Known for their unapologetically bold lyrics and powerful rock energy, OP-ED’s songs speak truth to power with a focus on Palestinian rights.
The band includes Tarek, Jay Nowicki (The Perpetrators, Rusty Robot (The Waking Eyes, Imaginary Cities), Art Anthony (Collectors Studio), and Tunisian drummer Haithem Jegham (Pirania).
Join us for a night of solidarity, song, and reflection as we come together to support Gaza’s children and give voice to those who deserve to be heard.
